II. After the Mass a program followed with special performances from former parish workers in the somascan parish in Ayala Alabang. The alumni were requested to sing impromptu to the delight of Fr. Caesar, Fr. Gabriele and the other guests.
III. A sumptuous lunch was served after the program.
IV. The meeting was called to order at 1:45pm. Fr. Richard as the superior of the house welcomed the assembly and wish the group all the best and hope that the envision association will be more responsive to the needs of its members and the promotion of Somascan mission in the Philippines. Moreover, Fr. Richard offered himself and that of Fr. Melchor Umandal as the Spiritual Directors of the soon to be association. Fathers Caesar and Gabriele likewise admonished the group to remain faithful in the charism and spirit of St. Jerome Emiliani while living out our ordinary lives.
V. The assembly elected Mr. Allan T. Tura as the interim over-all Chairman together with the following chairmanship:
a. Registration and Membership, Public Information (website) Committee and the same time the SECRETARIAT c/o Batch '98 with Joey Jovellana as chairman.
b. Program & Planning, Publication Committee c/o Batch '99 with Marlon Bedua as chairman
c. Finance & Investments, Food & Logistics Committee c/o Batch '91 with Sonny Soriao as chairman
d. Election Committee c/o Batch '81 with George Bersabe as chairman
N.B. We are inviting other batches to volunteer in any committee they prefer to join with.
VI. The body approved a contribution of 300.00 every monthly meeting to facilitate funds for initial operation of the association.
VII.The body adopted the name of the association as the Somascan Alumni Association of the Philippines.
VIII. The proposed grand alumni homecoming is on February 2011
IX. The next meeting is scheduled on September 26, 2010 @ 9:00am in Casa Miani, San Jose Village, Alabang with the accommodation of Fr. Rommel Ermita, CRS.
